Building Power. Advancing Justice.
Aagaz Foundation Trust was established in 2019 by a collective of grassroots social activists with over 25 years of experience advancing social justice, challenging caste-based discrimination and addressing gender inequality. Registered under the Rajasthan Public Trusts Act, 1959, Aagaz was founded on a strong commitment to justice, equality, dignity and human rights.
Aagaz is a Dalit-led, feminist organisation with women comprising 75% of its Board of Trustees, including senior leadership. The organisation works with Dalit, Adivasi, nomadic and other marginalised communities, with a focus on women, youth and children. Its work includes strengthening rights awareness, legal literacy and access to justice, supporting communities affected by caste- and gender-based discrimination, and promoting leadership, collective action and social change.
“True empowerment begins when women understand their rights, build economic independence, and have the freedom to lead their own lives and communities with dignity.”
We train, mentor and support local community leaders to strengthen women’s leadership, economic opportunities, rights awareness and access to legal support.
